Universal Arts is a self-financed organisation working in the field of promotion and production of international theatre.
We hire you theatre space in New Town Theatre (former Universal Arts Theatre) for the duration of the festival.
As standard within the theatre rental fee we include the following: Theatre hire for your slot time.
General lighting cover - a set of side, front (warm and cool) and back lights. A technical get-in at the start of the festival (the lights will be pre-hung as mentioned above) for focusing and rehearsal. This get-in is 5 hours for Mysterious and 8 hours for Majestic.

For shows not suited to either of our spaces, we can find you an alternative venue and also help you with your pre-festival administration.
As our festival clients we co-ordinate much of your pre-Edinburgh administration including finding accommodation, submitting tax forms to the UK tax department, appointing and overseeing the work of a PR agent (paid by you separately) who will represent you from June onwards, seeking out promotional opportunities for you and overseeing the distribution of your marketing material (we can organise printing in the UK if this is more cost-effective for you than printing and shipping from your countries),. The fee for Option 2 is dependent on the size of show and the other costs for administration will be agreed in advance as per a written budget.

After we have seen a performance, either prior to the festival or in Edinburgh we can discuss the possibility of acting as YOUR INTERNATIONAL AGENTS for selling your production to festival and theatre programmers from around the world. Our standard fee for this is 20% of fees or box-office income generated from sales.
